Feature-Based Visualization of Time-Dependent Data

Freek Reinders

Visualization is the process that transforms (numerical) data into a visual representation. Numerical data area low-level representation of natural phenomena, and are often hard to interpret directly. Visual representations are much easier to understand for humans. The human eye has phenomenal capabilities for detecting structures, shapes and patterns. The expression is that 'an image says more than a thousand words', or numbers in our case.
